Capturing Love at Seven Islands State Birding Park in Knoxville, TN: Beautiful Knoxville Engagement Session at Seven Islands

Capturing Love at Seven Islands State Birding Park in Knoxville, TN

There’s something magical about an engagement session in East Tennessee, especially as summer transitions into autumn, and this romantic shoot at Seven Islands State Birding Park was no exception. As a Knoxville engagement photographer, I love to incorporate the natural beauty Knoxville has to offer – and Seven Islands, with its wild fields, calm riverside spots, and golden evenings, created the perfect location for this session. Every moment was full of connection and love. Keep scrolling to see some of my favorite images from this summer evening!

An Easygoing, Fun Engagement Session in Seven Islands’ Peaceful Setting

I’m so happy I got to work with Leslie and Matthew and celebrate this season of life with them. I’ve known Leslie for years, and got to photograph her graduation pictures earlier this year. When I met Matthew, I knew he was a great match for Leslie. He was loving and excited to recreate the vibe Leslie was going for.

Why Seven Islands is a Top Choice for Knoxville Engagement Sessions

Seven Islands State Birding Park is one of my favorite Knoxville engagement photo spots. Kodak is not too far away from my house, but still gets away from the city enough to feel like we’re really out in nature. There are wide open fields with a nice view of rolling hills, paved walking trails, and a nice view of the French Broad River. There’s so much variety in photo opportunities! In August, the sun filters through the tall grass, creating a warm and romantic vibe you’ll feel throughout the gallery.

Late-August Breezes, Intimate Moments, and Dreamy Views

Leslie and Matthew had to drive back to Jefferson City after the shoot, so we met a little earlier than I usually shoot, around 6pm. So, it was slightly before golden hour, but the light was still beautiful and it wasn’t too hot. Leslie and Matthew wore perfectly matching outfits that photographed well. As an engagement photographer, I can’t recommend enough that you wear: no neon colors, patterns or uncomfortable clothes. This is key! We walked the trails, took a break by the water and caught the sunset by the time the shoot was over. This was one of my favorite engagement sessions of the summer.
